1. What's their coaching and sales experience?
You want to make sure you are working with somebody who has the expertise to assist you in your own business. Find out what their experience is developing other agents, if they have coaching testimonials, and the proven results or track record of working with them.
While a motivating personality is definitely attractive, look for coaches & mentors with appropriate sales experience as well. If you're having difficulties with transactions, you want your coach to be able to provide guidance in all aspects of your daily career.
2.Do they follow any philosophies or formal systems?
If they're going to provide you structure to your business, they should have structure in place as well. Look for a program that clearly outlines all that is offered and what the expectations are for both the coach and agent alike.

3. How committed and available are they?
You and your coach might hit it off personally, but are they able to devote their time and energy to help you grow?
Another busy agent, competing broker, or local leadership might be stretching themselves too thin when it comes to coaching. Ask what type of time investment you can expect on their end and how they pledge to uphold it.
4. Is their support in line with your business planning or goals?
Before you can reach your goals, it's important to have defined them. If you don't have a business plan in place, see if this is included in the coaching.
5.What tools & resources support their coaching?
You don't want to start working with a coach only to find out that you need to invest in more tools & resources. Find out if their coaching includes all you need to be successful.
