Making caramel apples, going on hayrides, strolling city street art festivals, carving pumpkins, outdoor music events, and baking delicious homemade recipes are just a few of the reasons why we look forward to the fall season each year.
Central Florida’s charming communities love to embrace the season, too, and each host a number of fun-filled fall activities! Mark your calendars – here are some favorites you won’t want to miss:
On Saturday, October 28th, head out to The Downtown Clermont Harvest Festival. The event is free and reminds us of days gone. It is a celebration of bountiful harvests and the arrival of Fall! Downtown will be decorated with a Fall theme to help get everyone into the festive spirit!
If you are looking to get in touch with nature this fall, the 23rd Annual Mt. Dora Plant and Garden Fair, November 11-12 is a “green thumb” growers delight. Admission is FREE. Central Florida’s top growers bring more than 12,000 plants, herbs and garden antiques to this annual event, so be sure to go!
With October being National Arts & Humanities Month (NAHM) many cities are featuring cultural events on their fall agenda with music, art, dance and more as a collective recognition of the importance of culture in America.
Fall is the season for fun, family, friends and craft fairs! Practically every weekend in October and November, there is a craft fair being held in Central Florida and one of the best craft fairs to be found is in the city of Mt. Dora Florida, October 28-29. This event is known to attract over 250,000 visitors with over 350 of the best crafters in the country. It is a great venue to attend to pick up unique finds and an ideal place to get in a little early Christmas shopping.
Fall is also a great time of year to attend an outdoor festival. The weather in Central Florida is perfect for taking in a weekend of art and if you head over to the beautiful historic Deland Florida, November 18 & 19, you can enjoy the best voted outdoor fine art festival. It’s a fun family weekend with street performers, food trucks, live music, bars, pubs and great restaurants, not to mention some of the art world’s most talented artisans.
It wouldn’t be fall without pumpkins and hayrides. In the city of Orlando, numerous churches, farms, and nonprofit groups host fun fall activities for all ages, and a list of these events can be found online.
Also, be sure to attend the Fall Fiesta in the Park at downtown Lake Eola, November 4-5th. It is a “must see and do event,” with art, music, and a variety of some of the tastiest food around to enjoy. Bring your pet, because this event welcomes those furry family members too!
On October 21st and 22nd , Celebration Town Center will transform as the falling leaves of the season drop on Market Street in the Fall Festival known as Oktoberfest. Take the family to this one-of-a-kind themed extravaganza where you can relax by the lake, shop the many boutiques or take a hayride for fun!
Plan to make a stop at The Villages, Florida’s Spanish Springs Town Square® on October 17th and the Lake Sumter Landing Market Square® on October 19th from 5PM – 9PM for some Octoberfest fun from German themed food vendors to Bavarian dancers!
For those little ghouls and Halloween goblins who love dressing up in costumes, the Annual Leesburg Boo Bash held at the Leesburg Saturday Morning Market is October 28th from 8AM -1PM. There will be costume contests, a costume parade around Towne Square and Kid Friendly Activities like Pumpkin painting. The event is FREE. It’s sure to be a “boooo…tiful” fall event!”
