The Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens is both a historical site and botanical garden. It sits on a 10-acre property in Port Orange and is maintained by the Botanical Gardens of Volusia, Inc. From azaleas, ivies, magnolias, ferns, and more tropical collections and gardens, the mission of this beautiful place is to help educate local gardeners and for visitors to simply enjoy and explore the mill ruins.

Spruce Creek Park is located in Port Orange as well and is on 23 acres. It features miles of nature trails, picnic areas, and a 536 ft. boardwalk leading to a 15-foot observation tower overlooking a marsh area. Extensions in the north area have been a part of the Rose Bay Legacy Project Program. This program involves students studying the environment and helping to find ways for minimal nature impacts and increasing native vegetation throughout the area.

If you love the outdoors, Port Orange Causeway Park is another great location encompassing 30 acres and offers direct access to the Halifax River. Other amenities include fishing piers, boat ramps, boat parking, and such peaceful views as it's pretty much its own island. 

Cracker Creek is another historical and outdoor adventure spot with 20 acres of pure bliss and serene nature. This popular destination is located on the western side of the scenic Spruce Creek and offers anything from canoeing, kayaking, boat tours, camping, catering, event accommodations, fishing and more!

The Port Orange City Center Municipal Complex is another place that provides lots for the local residents and passing visitors to enjoy. From the 1/2 mile walking trail around the lake to a fitness trail, skate park, Amphitheater, and more, this beautiful area hosts many outdoor and special events annually as well.

Whether you're looking for Saturday shopping, a weeknight dinner, and movie, or live music and drinks, the Pavilion at Port Orange seems to have it all!

Favorites include Malibu Beach Grill, or Gabbie's Pizzeria that offers a variety of dessert options to gluten-free pizza crusts and salads. For movie enthusiasts, try out an RPX (Regal Premium Experience) showing at the Regal Pavilion Stadium with 3D or standard showings and extra-comfy seats for the ultimate movie experience. Grab a pizza or sandwich there if you skipped dinner, or enjoy some buttery popcorn!

Another relaxing local spot that may be easy to miss due to it's almost hidden from sight location is DJ's Deck! This family-owned and operated seafood restaurant is located under the Dunlawton Bridge in a commercial marina. Serving up great food under their large Polynesian style Tiki Hut, guests can enjoy a bite to eat or cold beverage while overlooking the intercoastal waterway!
