Seller Story: If you don’t love it, list it!

Buying a home is a big deal.

I was thrilled when my husband and I bought our first home in Central Florida. In theory, everything was perfect - great location, beautiful view, and the home was incredibly spacious. In our daily life, however, it all translated in to too much maintentance, a long commute, and money spent on things that were not important to us.

Everyday I felt overwhelmed by the amount of work there was to be done. My home felt like a never ending chore.

Sure, I could have hired a person to clean, another to take care of the yard, and another for the pool. But I’m cheap. Oh, did I forget to mention that? Yep, that's me!

I'm not gonna lie, for a long time I felt pretty helpless about my situation. I thought I just had to live with my choice.

One day, I decided to look at at homes for sale in Central Florida and accidentally felt into the rabbit's hole. I came up with plan, and got our home ready to sell, even though the time wasn't right. I wanted to be ready to sell my home fast when a good opportunity came around.

I researched the Florida Real Estate market for a good year before the timing was right to sell my house.  I wasn't going to lose money, and there were many homes -and condos- for sale in Downtown Orlando that I wanted to move to.

Still, I was scared. What if I can’t sell my home? What if I regret selling my home? But I figured if I wasn’t happy where I was, I needed to do something about it. So I did!

I sold my house and decided to buy a smaller home in another area.

I have to say it was THE BEST decision I've made! I finally have time to do what I want. I couldn’t be happier. There are so many reasons why I love living in Downtown Orlando.

My advice to anyone who isn’t a happy homeowner?

It doesn’t matter if you need a bigger home, or you want to downsize. If you don’t love your home, don’t feel trapped. List it.

Start watching the Real Estate market now and learn as much as you can. Analyze all your options and come up with a plan. Work on getting your home ready to sell, even if you are not going to sell you home now. That way when you see an opportunity, you can sell your home fast.

Sure, you have to put a lot of work into it. But once the process is over and you are living in a home that you love, it is all worth.

If you are thinking about selling you home, start by finding out how much is your home worth.
