Eustis
Eustis, about 30 miles northwest of Orlando, is situated on Lake Eustis. Both the lake and city were named after General Abraham Eustis, who served in the U.S. Army during the early 19th century. Before railroads entered Central Florida, Lake Eustis was an important point for shipping, and a boat landing on the lake was established as the commercial corridor.
Today, Eustis is a community of over 20,000 people and boasts historic charm. Residents and visitors can enjoy unique shops, dining, a brewery, and a variety of live entertainment throughout the waterfront downtown district area.
The waterfront district even offers a serene Lake Walk at Ferran Park, the city's first public park. Ferran Park and the downtown area hosts many events throughout the year including the popular Georgefest and 1st Friday Street Party.

Clair-Abram's had high hopes for the town in becoming the capital of Florida one day, but it settled for being the longtime county seat of Lake County.
Known as 'America's Seaplane City,' Tavares rings loud and true to its unique name as seaplanes can be seen frequently throughout the area. Visitors can watch seaplanes land and take off right from the Tavares' downtown and waterfront district, or even take a ride themselves through a local establishment. The downtown area also boasts a variety of fun and entertaining eateries, even some you can arrive to by boat! Popular events throughout the year include the Sunnyland Antique & Classic Boat Festival and the Planes, Trains & BBQ festival.
Wooten Park is a beautiful and peaceful place right on the water in the downtown area and includes a fun splash park and playground for the little ones. It sits next to the popular and beautiful Pavilion venue that extends out over the lake as well.
Lake Idamere Park is another great spot and even has two dog parks and houses Lake County's first Miracle League Field.
