ERAGrizzard: How did you get started in Real Estate?
Lindsay Sellars: I have always been interested in Real Estate and have always found it extremely fascinating. My father is a real estate agent for ERA Grizzard Real Estate as well and he always made it look like so much fun. I graduated from the University of Florida in December of 2012 with a degree in Elementary Education. In January of 2013, I welcomed my daughter into the world and planned on teaching the following August. As August quickly approached, I realized that teaching was not something that I was truly passionate about (after four years of college, go figure!). Real estate seemed like a more fun and flexible alternative and I immediately began taking the courses required to receive my license. I have been in love with it ever since and can truly say that I enjoy going to work!
ERA Grizzard: What do you enjoy most about Real Estate?
Lindsay Sellars: There are several things that make my job as a real estate agent so glamorous! In addition to meeting many wonderful people on both the buying and selling ends of the business and helping people make their home-buying dreams a reality; I was particularly drawn to this career because of the flexibility it allows. I am extremely fortunate to be able to stay home with my daughter two days a week. Also, I love that, as a real estate agent, business is so centered on technology that I can practically work anywhere.
ERA Grizzard: Why did you join ERA Grizzard Real Estate?
Lindsay Sellars: I joined ERA Grizzard Real Estate for many reasons, but perhaps the biggest reason was and is their reputation in the community. Not only does this company have the largest market share in the area, but it is also a well-known family business. I really enjoy working with the team I do
ERA Grizzard: How is technology changing the way people buy and sell houses?
Lindsay Sellars: Technology has become huge in real estate! The majority of our clients this day and age search the internet for properties. Print ads are nowhere near as effective as the internet. Once a buyer locates a home they are interested in online, they can easily reach an agent, day or night, via email.
The home buying process has also been inundated with technology. When listing homes, we even use electronic lock boxes that can be opened by an app on our phones to remove the key to show the house. We also have several programs that allow our clients to sign documents electronically, through their email. It is truly amazing!
ERA Grizzard: What do you enjoy most about living in the Leesburg area?
Lindsay Sellars: I enjoy living in the Leesburg area because this is where I grew up. This is where I went to high school and this is where my family lives. I love being able to stop at the grocery store or the gas station and see friends I know. This is where my roots are and even after college, there was no doubt in my mind that I would move back home! This also makes this area great for business!
