Mount Dora, FL- ERA Grizzard is pleased to announce that David Wax has joined ERA Grizzard Real Estate and their team in Mount Dora, Florida.

When you make a career move, you need to make sure you find a place that fits both yourself and those you are working with,” says David when asked why he joined the ERA Grizzard team. “I knew after my first chat with Jeanne and Gus, that this was the best fit for me.”

David specializes in helping home sellers and buyers in the Golden Triangle area of Lake County and Western Orange County, Florida. He is passionate about “classic homes for the modern lifestyle” and is an enthusiast of Mid-Century Modern architecture.

“I wish I could find a Mid-Century Modern on the water for everyone because that is really it for me. However, I am fond of all the older classic homes.

I grew up in an area with quite a lot of homes from that "Mid Century" period with the low swung roof lines and lots of open "modern" space,” says David. “The biggest influence on me was Nils Schweizer, the famous Central Florida architect who studied under Frank Lloyd Wright.

As a young man, I belonged to the same church as the Schweizers. The first time I was in their home, I don't think I even talked because I was so busy looking at the walls and the construction. His home was incredible. While I never went in to the field of Architecture, after talking to Nils, I have had an appreciation for the classics.”

When David’s not busy searching for the perfect classic home, you can find him touring Lake County’s chain of lakes or in his garden growing grapes. While he says that grapes are a challenge to grow in Florida, he’s hopeful that he’ll be making his own wine later this year!
