Winter Garden: Why this 'Modern Hometown' is a Real Estate Hot Spot

Written by Megan Crevier | Jan 29, 2016 7:49:08 PM

Winter Garden was recently named one of "Orlando's Hottest Home Spots." The town topped the list, alongside East Orlando, for the most homes sales in Orange and Seminole counties in 2015.

Here’s what it’s really like to live in or around the town of Winter Garden, Florida, and why so many people are looking at homes for sale here.

A Modern Hometown

Winter Garden is ‘historic’ in more ways than one. Not only does the aesthetic of its Downtown make you feel as if you’ve stepped back into the 20’s, the warm and and inviting atmosphere is like something from another time.

You’ll generally find the town’s streets bustling with shoppers, diners eating outdoors, and children playing. The West Orange Trail is popular for walkers, joggers, and bikers alike - a true sentiment to the active lifestyle surrounding Winter Garden.

The vibrant energy of the city is contagious and leaves you wanting to visit again and again.

Variety of Homes & Real Estate Perks

Winter Garden provides a variety of housing options. Dream of sipping morning coffee with a gorgeous lake view as your backdrop? Or, do you prefer serenity and privacy - a home with land and acreage? Or maybe, you prefer to be close to the action, within walking distance of shopping, dining, and events?

You’ll find all of that and more in the homes for sale in Winter Garden, Florida. Historic homes, luxury homes, homes in communities with great amenities, or along the West Orange Trail - this popular suburb has it all.

If you’re looking at homes for sale, this charming town near Clermont and Orlando is a great place to be!

The Shopping is Local

There are a variety of local shops found in the Downtown Winter Garden area. Plus, every Saturday morning, the streets of Winter Garden are bustling with residents walking their dogs, purchasing local produce, listening to live music, and supporting local business at the Weekly Farmers Market.

Open 7 days a week, The Plant Street Market is also full of local businesses, and is always a pleasure to visit.

The market features 20 vendors all in one building, where you can dine at delicious, local restaurants, purchase fresh meat at the butcher, organic food and homemade products.

You've got to grab a refreshing drink at the Crooked Can brewery while you shop - local brewed beer is the best beer! Not to worry if you’re not a beer drinker - there’s a coffee shop and juice bar in the market as well - wheat grass shots, anyone?!

Conveniently Located

Another perk to buying a home in Winter Garden is the great location. Residents love that it’s close to the city, but feels centuries away.

Sandwiched between Dr. Phillips, Windermere, Orlando, and Clermont, it’s a great location for residents to commute to surrounding areas easily, but escape some of the traffic in more congested areas of Central Florida.

There’s about a 25 minute commute into metro areas of Orlando, perfect if you work Downtown but would rather not live there. A 20 minute drive puts you in the heart of Orlando’s popular attractions such as Disney World, if you feel like spending an afternoon at the happiest place on earth.

Winter Garden's central location also allows residents from surrounding communities to enjoy its festivities. Even if you’re looking at homes for sale in Clermont, you’ll still be able to experience all that Winter Garden has to offer!

Fun for the Whole Family

Winter Garden is also known for the events and festivals they host year round.

The Winter Garden Theater provides unique entertainment from movies, to music, to live plays. I’ve been to two live musicals at the theater, myself - both nothing short of fantastic! The historic charm of this theater completes your night at the show - it truly is a unique experience.

The endless energy and entertainment this little town has to offer is unique from other areas in Central Florida.
