It’s the perfect place to take a leisurely stroll through the quaint boutiques and visitors are warmly welcomed with Leesburg’s own brand of southern hospitality. However, for one long weekend every year, the city transforms into the world’s largest 3-day motorcycle and music event. The quiet streets are eclipsed by the roar of motorcycle engines and electrifying live music, and the city is brimming with over 300,000 bikers and spectators. ## Whether you’ve been to the Leesburg Bikefest every year, or you’re a Bikefest newbie, here are 3 easy tips to make the most of your weekend ## ![lesburg florida bike fest era grizzard.png](https://blog.eragrizzard.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Leesburg/lesburg%20florida%20bike%20fest%20era%20grizzard.png?width=619&height=325&name=lesburg%20florida%20bike%20fest%20era%20grizzard.png) # **1. Plan Ahead** There’s a lot too see and do throughout the fest with over 85 concerts, bike and specialty shows, multiple contests, and special vendor events. Get familiar with the schedule and map ahead of time. Highlight your must do’s, but be flexible with your plan. Some of your best memories might come from unexpected places. .   # 2. Take the Shuttles Traffic and crowds will slow you down and only motorcycles are allowed on the main downtown street. If you’re not taking your bike, consider taking a shuttle. Shuttle services have expanded into the neighboring cities of Mount Dora - Tavares, Eustis, and The Villages and leave every 30-40 minutes. There's also a shuttle from Downtown to Gator Harley every 20 minutes.  The last shuttle doesn't take off until 3:55 a.m on Saturday. So, if you’re partying late into the night, there’s no excuse for being unsafe! [See shuttle schedule.](http://www.leesburgbikefest.com/info/shuttle-services.html)  # **3. Prepare for the Florida Sun** Even if you’re used to the heat, the Leesburg Bikefest can be draining. With seasonal temperatures in the 80s and highs reaching the 90s, it’s important for your health and safety to be prepared. Consider bringing a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated and a bottle of sunscreen to protect your skin. It’s easy to forget these two simple things. But after a day of fun in the sun, you’ll be glad you remembered!  After the Leesburg Bikefest, stick around awhile. There’s more to see and do in Lake County. You might even want to call Leesburg home!
