Florida is known around the world as a top vacation spot - theme parks, beaches, golfing - it’s a vacationer’s dream.
But to millions of people, The Sunshine State isn’t just a getaway, it’s home. And it’s not just home - it’s where they’ve found prosperous careers or their business is thriving.
We sat down with Sean Helton, the VP of Strategic Communications for Enterprise Florida to learn more about business in Florida, initiatives to propel growth, and how Enterprise Florida's efforts impact us as residents.
Enterprise Florida works to grow Florida’s economy through job creation. They actively encourage businesses to 'find their future' here in Florida.
While Florida is well known for tourism and hospitality, Enterprise Florida promotes our other thriving industries such as aviation, aerospace, life sciences, international business, sports, and IT.
"The Future Is Here"
Enterprise Florida recently launched their campaign “Florida, The Future is Here,” to promote Florida as a prime business location. Learn more about their campaign here.
They’re encouraging business leaders to see Florida in a new way by highlighting our 'business climate, infrastructure, trade, workforce, and quality of life.'
Did you know that we are one of the world's leaders in international trade with 15 deepwater ports? We also have the 4th largest economy in the United States and the 3rd largest workforce.
Florida is also home to three of the ten largest universities located in the United States, and each Floridian lives within 50 miles of a post-secondary educational institution - many of them are nationally ranked.
Our beautiful weather year-round and unlimited recreational activities makes it easy to achieve a healthy work-life balance. Florida can be an affordable place to find homes for sale and is a no-personal income tax state.
So, what does all of this really mean for Florida residents?
“Expanding and diversifying the Florida economy outside of tourism and hospitality makes a stable economy that is more resilient to economic downturn. When people aren’t traveling and visiting, we still have industries like aerospace, manufacturing, and life sciences that help support the state,” said Sean Helton, Vice President of strategic Communications, Enterprise Florida.
Prosperity for Floridians
The growing and stable economy means a higher quality of life for the residents who call Florida home. Growth means more job opportunities in a variety of fields for every skill set.
The growth in business could also mean an increase in residents, boosting our Central Florida Real Estate Market and economy even further.
With the global gateways, an educated and diverse workforce, and the business friendly environment, it’s no wonder so many businesses (and residents) are finding their ‘future’ here in Florida.
